Today is the 15th day, since I had my gout flare-up. I found the following image that best describe to non-gout sufferers. It's annoying pain. Sharp. I don't even want to wish gout on my enemies.
Since my last entry, I've been order prophylactic treatment and given a low dosage (100mg) Allopurinol. My diet modification isn't working. I don't drink, avoid red meats, and foods known to elevate uric acid levels. My body needed the help I'm hoping the Allopurinol will do its job in helping me maintain my uric acid serum levels in my bloodstream. I was told that my current levels are 7-point something. It's on the high end of the spectrum. In 30 days, I'll have to take another blood test to determine if the current 100mg dosage is sufficient.
My personal photography projects at UC Davis had to be deferred until the next weekend. Being immobile and as mundane as going up and down the stairs in my current condition is a nuisance!!! Gout is hereditary! My dad's side of the family suffers from attacks. :-(
